Carabietta, administratively municipality of Collina d'Oro, is situated between locality Barbengo and Muzzano, was an autonomous municipality established in 1816 by spin-off from the municipality of Morcote, in April 2012 it was merged with the municipality of Collina d'Oro. From an agricultural community it has progressively transformed into a residential village, linked from an economic and educational point of view to the communities of Barbengo and Grancia.
