Vello, administrately municipality of Marone, is situated between Marone and Pisogne, in the southern part of the lake. In the Napoleonic age it was a fraction of Marone, recovering its autonomy with the establishment of the Lombardy-Veneto Kingdom; in 1927 it was aggregated to the Municipality of Marone.

Marone is situated between Sale Marasino and locality Vello, in the central-eastern basin of the lake; it is crossed by two main streams, Bagnadore and Opol. It became the capital from the second half of the sixteenth century, when it was considered one of the most important industrial centers of lake Iseo with the development of agriculture, the smelting and processing of iron and the milling of wool. Currently the main activities are the processing of wool, the production of felt and the extraction of dolomite. Starting from 2010, olive growing has spread, from which the typical Olio d'oliva lombardo (Lombard olive oil) is produced: since 2001 the Municipality has also been part of the national association "Città dell'olio".
