Brusimpiano is situated between Lavena Ponte Tresa and Porto Ceresio, it is divided in two by the Trallo stream, along which there is an old mine, the Teresina, a deposit of galena (a mineral consisting of lead and silver) discovered in 1850 and extracted from 1861 until the end of the century, when the mine it was then abandoned. The village was part of the Contado del Seprio in the Middle Ages, a fief previously owned by the Torriani family, passed from the hands of the Visconti during the Renaissance. With the rise to the government by Maria Theresa of Austria, the estate went to the Borromeo Arese family and later to the Litta family. The alleys of the village are very characteristic, frescoed with sacred-themed paintings by local painters following the numerous calamities that have occurred to the village over the years. Brusimpiano houses a curiosity, a cave that was the home of a hermit, this father Francesco Coglio, who lived from 1629 to 1692. You can visit Villa Sormani, probably of seventeenth-century origin, the Palazzo in "strada per Brusimpiano", located at the intersection of the road which leads to the Sanctuary of the Miraculous Madonna, and the church of the Annunciation, with the singular bell tower separated from the church and joined to the parish house.
