The island San Giulio is situated in front of the homonym town of Orta San Giulio in a suggestive context, around 400 meters from the bank of this last one. The island is strongly characterized by the presence of the Bishops Building of the 800, currently center of a convent of female seclusion, the Benedictine abbey "Mater Ecclesiae": here it is produced the "bread of San Giulio". The picture is completed by the presence of the other famous San Giulio's basilica, where there are the bare ones of the Saint. The island is crossed by a narrow path in small stones that it makes more mysterious and fascinating an excursion.
