Omegna is situated in the north part of the lake of Orta on the road between Gravellona Toce and Pettenasco; it is bathed by the streams Nigoglia (curiously and otherwise from the other rivers of the european lakes it flows in the north instead that to the south) and Strona, it rises in a strategic position and it is a vivacious industrial pole especially in the metallic workmanships. The inhabited center leans out directly on the picturesque lake-front, placed by parvises, where it is possible to admire, in last two Sundays of August, at the spectacular fireworks of San Vito. Interesting the Collegiata of Sant'Ambrogio, a mixture of Gothic and Romanesque.
